Jamies Gymnastics Academy (JGA), the largest gymnastics provider in the UK, secured £275,000 of Club Capital finance to help them expand their offering by opening their first dedicated, seven days a week gymnastics facility.
JGA has been offering recreational gymnastics classes to the local community in the Bromley district of London for 17 years, but all from non-dedicated satellite sites. Early in their development JGA moved away from the typical emphasis on elite gymnastics with the aim of making grassroots gymnastics fun and accessible for everyone. The dedicated facility enables JGA to make their offering more consistent and accessible to their local community.
Club Capital support included:
Sporting Assets led on the due diligence process and the assessment of JGA’s financial position and business plan.
Outcome
After receiving Club Capital funding, JGA opened its first purpose built, seven days a week gymnastics facility in Beckenham. Over 300 new members joined in the first month and membership is likely to continue to grow. JGA is now able to offer its broad range of classes, including adult gymnastics, disability classes, recreational gymnastics, Free G, and preschool classes, to even more people in its local community.
Paul and his team at Sporting Assets were brilliant! The process, although extremely thorough, enabled me to really hone in on the necessities needed to get a project of this magnitude up and running. I was able to understand from a business perspective what essentials were key to operating a 7-day a week facility, to ensure new prospective clients as well as my team are safe at all times. Combined with the help of the MGAC and British Gymnastics, this building will provide a legacy to enable so many children as possible the opportunity to take part in this incredible sport. I will 100% be going through the process again to open at least another one, if not two full time facilities over the next 3-5 years.
