Our experienced advisory team work closely with our investment team, enabling us to bring investment experience, knowledge, opportunities and insight to our clients and projects.

Strategic Development

We work in partnership with a range of sector bodies including Sport England, National Governing Bodies, Active Partnerships, Local Authorities (local and national government) and large infrastructure charities such as The Football Foundation and London Marathon Foundation.

Our support has included:

  • Design and development of capacity building programmes to support a network of clubs and organisations.
  • Developing tools and resources to support such programmes including:
    • Sport specific club health check “diagnostic tools” and supporting toolkits to help review organisational capacity and capability and create focused development plans.
    • Workshops and peer networking and learning events.
    • One to one support and guidance for a cohort of clubs.
  • Developing innovative facility model initiatives to help network clubs secure greater access to facilities, enhancing participation, financial sustainability, and impact.
  • Working with a network of clubs to review joint needs, strategic opportunities, and ways of improving partnerships.
  • Strategic facility reviews to assess need, operational and financial performance, income generation opportunities and how to enhance impact.

Community Ownership Fund

Community Ownership Fund (COF) is a £150m government fund that exists to help communities across the UK to take ownership of community assets at risk of closure.

Sporting Assets are part of a consortium serving as the official delivery partner to the Department for Levelling up Housing and Communities to offer advice and in-depth support to community groups applying to the fund, leading on sports and leisure projects.
